Geneva-Princeton

Learning Workshop

Jan 6-8, 2017 : Geneva, Switzerland
Conf. description

This workshop focuses on statistical learning and its cognitive and neural mechanisms. Importantly, it aims at asking how statistical learning either mirrors or differs from other types of learning, in particular reward-based learning. It also asks to which extent determinants of learning, such as attentional control, working memory, or fluid intelligence to cite a few, are shared across types of learning, or rather contribute unique variance to some but not other learning types. Answers to these questions will be important in determining how to best support learners across a variety of life situations, from early language development to more specific training contexts, such as learning to read radiology scans.

This workshop was made possible by a Geneva-Princeton Collaborative Research
Grant and organized by Irene Altarelli, Daphne Bavelier, and Nick Turk-Browne.
